Will oranges turn yellow if you eat too many?

Eating too many oranges can cause a condition known as carotenemia, which is characterized by a yellow or orange discoloration of the skin. Oranges contain high levels of beta-carotene, a pigment that is converted into vitamin A in the body. When you consume excessive amounts of beta-carotene, the excess pigment can accumulate in the skin, causing yellow discoloration. This condition is not dangerous and usually goes away once you reduce your intake of oranges or other foods high in beta-carotene.
