Crisis under a tornado

A tornado forms when warm, moist air near the ground collides with cold, dry air above it, creating an unstable atmosphere. When strong winds at different altitudes create a horizontal rotation effect, a tornado can occur.

If you find yourself in the path of a tornado, it is important to seek shelter immediately. The best option is to find a designated tornado shelter, such as a basement or storm cellar. If this is not possible, move to the lowest level of the building, preferably to a small interior room or hallway without windows.

If you are in a car or outdoors and cannot find shelter in a building, do not try to run away from the tornado. Instead, try to find a low-lying area, such as a ditch, and lie flat, covering your head with your hands.

It is critical to heed weather warnings and warnings to stay aware of potential tornado threats in your area. Being prepared and knowing what to do in the event of a tornado can save your life.
